Made during my first semester of my final year, this is a sculpture of an oriental mythical monster called a Kirin. It was primarily sculpted in Super Sculpey over a steel armature with kitchen foil (10 meters of it) before being oven baked. The final details such as the antlers, horns, teeth and spines were added after the baking with Milliput since Super Sculpey didn't seem to like being sculpted into sharp points. Milliput on the other hand can be sanded after it's cured so the finish on the horns etc is quite good.
My first concept for this sculpture is also in my gallery if that takes anyones fancy and, as ever, if you having any passing thoughts regarding my work, feel free to comment!
