Like so many people who grew up through the 90's with Pokemon, I loved the idea of actually having my dreamteam from the games but for real! Now a grown man this fascination with living Pokemon still hasn't left me (boy am I mature....)
However, unlike my childhood self, I now envisage the realistic Pokemon as something that could be featured in a live action movie, which would probably be either really amazing or truely awful (hopefully the former)!
Anyway, I decided the starters from the original games were probably a good place to start and, as such, I present to you my interpretation of Charmander, the fire starter!
Charmander was first drawn in HB mech pencil on A2 paper which was then scanned into photoshop for the colourised version.
My immediate thoughts are that Charmander's head should perhaps be a bit smaller and his legs should be a bit stockier just to balance out his proportions. Otherwise I was pretty pleased with the outcome.
Any other thoughts you may have, feel free to leave 'em! :)

The head and legs may be a bit out of proportion like you said, but this still looks incredibly awesome!!

Great design, I really dig the pencil texturing with the digitally applied colors!
